What is Research
Research is defined as “a systematic inquiry to describe, explain, predict, and control the observed phenomenon. It involves inductive and deductive methods “as per the American sociologist Earl Robert Babbie. It is the thoughtful analysis of studies pertaining to a certain issue or problem utilizing scientific methodologies.Â
The goal of research projects is to answer a question. The issue, technique, findings, and other pertinent information are all stated in detail in a paper that summarises a specific study. The APA style guide, named for the American Psychological Association includes the following main sections:Â

Abstract: It is a detailed summary of the research
​Introduction: Gives a brief overview of the topic/problem addressed. It also talks about the significance of the study, and how the research will help in finding a solution to the problem
​Methodology: It describes the data collection method, study setting and type in a detailed and a systematic manner​
Results: Outcomes of the study
​Discussion: it tries to critically evaluate the existing literature with that of the current research
